Cheyenne expands data center footprint. $112 million Microsoft center coming to town

Microsoft will build a $112 million dollar data center in Cheyenne. The facility is expected to expand Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure and service capabilities for the Mountain West region.

The company expects the center to be fully operational in the spring of 2013. It will eventually create 40 high-paying, technical jobs in the area.

Cheyenne is a growing data center, including Echostar and the NICAR supercomputer project.
