Wyoming expected to increase health care jobs 24% by 2020

According to a new Georgetown University study, health care jobs are expected to grow at a higher rate in most states than other job sectors. The study measured projected growth from 2010 through 2020.

Wyoming health care jobs are expected to increase 24 percent by 2020 to a total of 29,740 jobs, up from 23,970 jobs in 2010. This is compared to 17% growth across non health care sectors.

Nursing, allied, and support sector are expected to grow by 27%, 25% and 37% respectively.

The job increase is partly in response to the recent supreme court ruling on health care, and an aging baby boomer population expected to increasingly be in need of medical care.
