Hilton Garden Inn checks into Cheyenne

CHEYENNE – A Hilton Garden Inn hotel will open in Cheyenne in 2016 to bring jobs and tourists downtown.

The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce worked with the developer, Spirit Hospitality LLC, to bring the 130-room, 10-story hotel to Cheyenne. It will be at the southwest corner of 17th Street and Pioneer Avenue.

The hotel will feature a swimming pool, fitness room, six conference spaces and a restaurant. It also will include a skyway that will be built over Pioneer Avenue to connect it with a parking garage. The skyway will be paid for through a $562,600 grant, and a loan of $187,500 from the Wyoming Business Council.

City officials hope the project will revitalize downtown and bring jobs and tourists to the area.

It is set for completion by mid-2016.
